Dear Jim, I would like to know how much a small business license would cost and what my steps are to obtaining a license.
There is normally more than one cost to registering a small business in Colorado. The cost for getting your LLC Articles of Organization at the Secretary of State’s Office is $50. However, depending upon where you live, there may also be a local business license required. The price for these varies in every community. So you need to contact your local city hall to get this price. You should also get your business EIN number at the IRS web site www.irs.gov. This will be free.
I strongly suggest that you register for the SBDC class on Startup Basics which will cover the many requirements for a new business as there is more to this than just registering the business.
