February 2011
Dear Jim, I am submitting a proposal to a department of
transportation for a research project. They are not accepting questions
about the RFP. One of the requirements is to submit financial
information for the consultant, but do not offer further guidance as to
what documents they seek. As a small, young consulting company I have
neither an audit statement or an annual report. Suggestions for what
kind of financial reports I should be submitting? Thank you!
The requirements may vary from one RFP to another. My suggestion would
be to send the Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss Statements for the
past three years, 2008, 2009 and 2010. That is pretty standard. However,
I urge you to
schedule a meeting with one of the SBDC procurement specialists who can review the requirements and give you more specific information.
