The Denver Metro SBDC and Metropolitan State University of Denver
partner to offer you a comprehensive Strategic Business Analysis. The analysis is aimed at providing you with strategic recommendations to drive growth, competitiveness and profitability, while giving you an outlet to share your knowledge with Denver business students. Under the supervision of a Metropolitan State University of Denver professor and SBDC staff, graduating business students will conduct a strategic business analysis for your business in exchange for the opportunity to work on a real world consulting project. Business owners will receive useful, hard-hitting business information from bright and energetic business students. The outlook is fresh and stimulating, and the academic perspective often provides unique insights.
The final analysis will include:
- External Analysis (economy, industry, and competitors)
- Internal Analysis (company’s resources and competencies)
- Competitive Analysis
- Financial Analysis
- In business 2+ years
- Minimum of $100,000 and no more than $5 million in annual sales
- Must provide balance sheet, statement of cash flow, income statement, and quarterly profit and loss statements for at least the last 2 years
- Business-to-consumer companies preferred
There is no cost associated with the analysis. The project will last one semester (15 weeks) and generally requires approximately 10 hours of your time over the course of that semester. You will be required to provide financial and organizational documents from the last two years, including balance sheet, statement of cash flows, income statement, profit and loss statement, business plan (if applicable), competitors, and customer description.
We will begin accepting applications for the Fall 2017 Strategic Business Analysis program in June 2017. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2017. The program will begin in mid-August and end the first week of December.
