Trout Tank Food Frenzy: Pitch Accelerator

With over 275,000 workers employed by the food-service industry in Colorado, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce (DMCC) and the Denver Metro Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are proud to partner with Denver-based airport concessionaire Mission Yogurt, Inc. to bring you  Trout Tank: Food Frenzy Pitch Accelerator, the only Pitch Accelerator and event focused on brick and mortar hospitality businesses in Denver.

We are currently seeking startup and existing brick and mortar food service businesses and food trucks looking for exposure and funding to be a part of the 8-week program. The Pitch Accelerator will train each business on perfecting their pitch, ending in the final auditions where the top five businesses will be chosen to pitch at the Trout Tank: Food Frenzy event scheduled for August 2018

We have a powerhouse of an accelerator program for Trout Tank Food Frenzy participants where you will get the opportunity to meet rock star mentors, make invaluable connections within the industry, get special access to panels and experts, and share your ideas.

The Program

The Trout Tank Food Frenzy: Pitch Accelerator kicks off with Initial Pitches where participants present their best five-minute pitch to their peers and a committee for feedback. Once participants have completed the initial pitch, the training begins.

During the Trout Tank Food Frenzy: Pitch Accelerator, the Denver Metro SBDC and its partners will provide a Funding Options Panela special Trout Tank version of the Rockies Venture Club Pitch Academy, and a Funding Request Preview. Additional sessions related to food and restaurants are under development. This training is meant to hone and strengthen participants pitches and prepare them for the Final Auditions as well as provide opportunities to strengthen your business.  

At the Final Auditions, each participant will get to show what they have learned and pitch one last time for a panel of judges. The top pitches will be chosen to present at the Trout Tank Food Frenzy Pitch Event.

  • Pitch for a feedback committee at the Initial Pitches – June 27, 2018 2:00-5:00 pm
  • Attend Funding Options Panel ($50 value) – June 28, 2018 5:30-8:30 pm
  • VIP Attendance to the Food Frenzy Access Panel - July 25 4:00-6:00 pm
  • A special Trout Tank Food Frenzy edition of Rockies Venture Club Pitch Academy TBD 4:00-6:00 pm
    ($150 value)

  • Get paired with a rock star entrepreneurial mentor
  • Get assistance in completing a pitch deck and pitch packet
  • Attend a meeting with SBDC financial consultant and complete Funding Request Preview
  • Pitch at Final Auditions August 1, 2018 for a chance to compete in the Trout Tank: Final Pitch Event
  • Pitch or attend the Trout Tank Food Frenzy: Final Pitch Event – August 30th, 2018 4:00-6:00 pm ($35 value)
  • A booth at the Trout Tank Food Frenzy: Pitch Event Happy Hour a Demo Day August 30th, 2018 6:00-7:30 pm
