Trout Tank Mobility: Pitch Accelerator

What is Trout Tank Mobility?

We are seeking startup and existing businesses who are focused on mobility and infrastructure, and looking for exposure and funding, to be a part of this eight-week program. The Pitch Accelerator trains each business on perfecting their pitch while building their networks and industry expertise. The accelerator ends in the final auditions where the top businesses will be chosen to pitch at the Trout Tank Mobility event scheduled for December 2018.

Through an impressive coalition of industry leaders, this powerhouse accelerator creates opportunities for participants to meet rock star mentors, make invaluable connections within the industry and gain special access to panels and experts in order to share their ideas and build their business.

What businesses can participate in Trout Tank Mobility?

Trout Tank Mobility will focus on areas such as infrastructure, transit, personal vehicles, for-profit mobility services, car sharing, ride sharing, bicycling and pedestrian options and more – all with the goal to keep people and goods moving across the region and the state.

Why is it important?

Mobility is an issue that effects all Coloradans, not just those in the Denver metro region. And, in order for Colorado to maintain its competitive advantage we need innovative businesses partnering across sectors to develop solutions to address our mobility challenges.

Our failure to invest in our transportation system is costing Coloradans real money and time. Colorado drivers, on average, are in traffic for 52 hours and are paying more than $1,000 a year because of traffic congestion delays, damage to vehicles, accidents and lost gas efficiency. Those costs really add up — in total, Coloradans are paying $7.1 billion annually.

Trout Tank: Mobility will showcase entrepreneurs and companies that are working hard to make travel around Colorado easier and position us as major player in the future of mobility.

The Program

The Trout Tank Mobility: Pitch Accelerator kicks off with Initial Pitches where participants present their best five-minute pitch to their peers and a committee for feedback. Once participants have completed the initial pitch, the training begins.

During the Trout Tank Mobility: Pitch Accelerator, the Denver Metro SBDC, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and its partners will provide each company an expert mentor, group and one-on-one pitch coaching, unlimited consulting, a special Trout Tank version of the Rockies Venture Club Pitch Academy, a Funding Request Preview, and expert panels with VIP access. This training is meant to hone and strengthen participants pitches and prepare them for the Final Auditions as well as provide opportunities to strengthen your business.

At the Final Auditions, each participant will get to show what they have learned and pitch one last time for a panel of judges. The top pitches will be chosen to present at the Trout Tank Mobility: Pitch Event.

Hear from a couple past participants below.

Anyone that has a type of business and wants to see it succeed, you need to be here. There’s so many things that we didn't even know until we got here that they really helped establish what it takes to be a successful business. We don’t have holes in our business plan now.”
-Will Kelsay, Co-Founder of Dirt-Tri Magazine, Winner of Trout Tank Spring 2016

Competing in the Trout Tank is not just about getting in front of lenders and’s about the process of distilling your vision down to 10 to 15 slides and communicating your dream in a compelling fashion in five minutes. The most valuable part of the entire process is the journey you take to get yourself prepared. Give yourself and your business the gift of playing full out.”
-Greg Durocher, Safe Ride 4 Kids, Winner of June 2015 Trout Tank
